Welcome to: If Male Superhero Costumes were Designed Like Female Superhero Costumes!

Aaaaa I dunno. I got tired of guys having no idea why girls find female superhero’s costumes kinda sexist, so I, um, made this?

My main goals were: 1) Make it so the first thing you think of when you look at them is sex, whether you want to or not. 2) make it so that any male human who looks at this feels really uncomfortable. 3) make it funny, because, well, it’s kinda hilarious really.

Not trying to start a war here, just wanted to poke a bit of fun.

So, here you go menfolk, welcome to being a girl who likes comics.

Many many many people have messaged me about this post, so I better say something about it!  This is absolutely amazing and completely true.  I especially love the attention to detail, like how Captain America’s foot is up his butt.   I can think of at least a few covers on Escher Girls that has that issue, and it’s usually not one people immediately notice, so, nice job! :D  And the whole thing is totally amazing and really highlights the double standard.  As I keep saying to “but men are objectified too!”, yes, as power fantasies, not as sexual fantasies.

There is a big difference between power fantasies and sexual fantasies. One is empowering and inspiring, and one renders women only as useful as their vagina. It’s entirely possible to have sexy, empowered women who aren’t running around in a bikini top and dental floss.

It’s not like we have wonder woman in a G-string constantly calm down.  Also; as a guy, If batman dressed like that I would still watch it.

Oh and by the way; I’m sure it’s not sexist at all that nearly all archetypes of male superheroes wear spandex and are so chiseled you could grind a diamond on his abs.

No really; if we just use women in comics for sexual purposes; then obviously the same is true fot males.  Why? because dispite being fully clothed; you see just as much as you would on a heroine; due to the costume being skin-tight.

Get over yourselves women.  Not every guy wants to rape you and chain you to his kitchen stove for 9000 years.  Also, there is nothing wrong with these images.  Aside from the fact that Spidey’s is a tad to revealing; as bare nips aren’t really shown in comics.  Unless the rules have changed.  The original Poster, in theory then, is more sexist than anyone at Marvel or DC could hope to legally be.

Bare nips on Batman as well.

I actually mostly agree with thundergod on this one.
ALSO, I like Captain America’s outfit a lot.  Just saying.

Thundergod’s confusing male power fantasies for female sexual fantasies, but he’s right about everything else. Women are objectified in comics because the people who write them know that most readers will be male, whether they market with sex or not. Why? Because, by nature, men are more physically aggressive than women due to their higher testosterone levels. And comics are supposed to be about action, right? There you go. If there was a comic that wasn’t about the action, you’d see less sexism, because smart writers wouldn’t focus on the male market.

It’s a tyranny of the majority, yes, and that’s bad for the minority, yes, but in the end it sells better. So, as long as human Y chromosomes exist, nothing is going to change.
